Dubai Remraam Residents Offered Compensation Amid Temporary Evictions for Major Remediation Works

Hundreds of residents in Dubai’s Remraam community are facing temporary relocation after receiving eviction notices linked to a large-scale remediation programme. The initiative, launched by Dubai Holding Community Management (DHCM), is described as a preventive measure aimed at maintaining building quality, safety, and long-term community standards. Affected residents may be required to vacate their homes for periods ranging from 16 to 20 months while essential works are completed.

To ease the burden on tenants and homeowners, DHCM has introduced a compensation framework based on the average RERA rental index for each unit type. Residents will also receive relocation allowances ranging from Dh7,000 for studios to Dh16,000 for three-bedroom apartments. Payments are expected to be made after residents vacate their properties.

While many residents acknowledge the importance of improving building safety and infrastructure, concerns remain over relocation costs, ongoing service charges, and the challenge of finding suitable alternative accommodation in Dubai’s competitive rental market. Despite the inconvenience, the remediation programme is expected to enhance the long-term value and livability of the Remraam community.

The project highlights the growing focus on proactive property maintenance in Dubai’s residential communities, balancing short-term disruption with long-term improvements for residents and investors alike.
