Emirati women are playing an increasingly important role in Sharjah’s real estate market, with female investors investing Dh2.7 billion in properties between January and August 2026. According to data from the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department, the investments covered 3,385 traded properties and involved 3,737 Emirati female investors, highlighting growing confidence in the emirate’s property sector.
The latest figures demonstrate that Emirati women are becoming active participants in the UAE’s property investment landscape. Their growing involvement reflects increased awareness of real estate as a way to build sustainable assets while benefiting from Sharjah’s economic stability, investor-friendly environment and evolving property regulations.
Compared with the same period in 2025, all major indicators recorded growth. The number of properties traded by Emirati women increased from 3,322 to 3,385, representing a 1.9 per cent rise. The number of property owners also increased from 3,586 to 3,737, marking 4.2 per cent growth. Meanwhile, the overall trading value climbed from Dh2.6 billion to Dh2.7 billion, an increase of 1.2 per cent.
The figures were released around Emirati Women’s Day and underline the growing economic contribution of UAE women across different sectors. In real estate, their participation is particularly significant because property ownership can provide long-term capital growth, rental income opportunities and portfolio diversification.
Sharjah has also been experiencing strong momentum across its wider real estate sector. The emirate recorded Dh18.5 billion in property transactions during the first quarter of 2026, representing a 40.7 per cent increase compared with the same period in 2025. This broader market performance provides an important backdrop for the continued rise in female investment.
The increasing participation of Emirati women also reflects the impact of policies designed to strengthen women’s economic empowerment. The Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department linked these achievements to the UAE’s National Strategy for Empowerment of Emirati Women, which supports greater participation by women in the country’s sustainable economic development.
For Sharjah’s property market, the trend is encouraging. As more Emirati women enter the real estate investment space, demand could become increasingly diversified, supporting the emirate’s position as an attractive destination for residential and investment property. With new developments, improved infrastructure and an evolving regulatory environment, Sharjah continues to strengthen its appeal to both local and international investors.
The Dh2.7 billion investment by Emirati women therefore represents more than just a financial milestone. It highlights a broader shift in the UAE’s investment landscape, where women are becoming increasingly influential property owners and investors and contributing directly to the growth and diversification of the real estate economy.
